Trials and Tribulations of an Internet Grinder

I could be dead :) As you may have already noticed by the title of this post, things have been going horrible lately. I cannot seem to win any hands regardless of if I am a 5% or 90% favorite. I am currently dealing with a 30 buy-in downswing at the $55's and I am NOT enjoying it. Now as someone who has played about 4,000 SnG's in my career I am well aware that these kinds of runs happen and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, so i will keep pressing on and playing good poker. On another note, Daniel Negranu just won the WSOP Tournament Circuit event in Mississippi, so congrats to him as he is once again King of the poker world. :)

Back to the grind...

Not much to report I played 44 $55's over the last few days and I made about $175 so not too great although anything is better then lsong money so I am still happy. By the start of next month I want to be playing sets of 4 $55's and 3 $109's and then by the start of March hopefully I will finalyl be a full-time $109's player. Here are my stats up till now...

Since these two day updates could get boring pretty fast I am probably going to extend them to 3 day updates so roughly 10 a month, I think this will still give readers a good idea of the day to day swings of playing this game for a living. I played a little more in these latest 2 days but still failing to meet my previous expectations. I keep ahving my best perfermances int he 109's so my profit stats are kinda funny to look at at in this regard.

I didn't get much online play in these past two days because of me starting school and playing at the casino. Which leads me to my first bit of news, I won back to back 50 player MTTs on Monday and Tuesday night for $850 and $975 respectively. I also won and entry into a sattelite for a seat to the WPT Reno. The sattelite will have only 40 entrants and be giving away 3 seats so I am excited about playing in that next month. As far as online play I got in about 15 SnG's here are my running stats:

So for the new year I started a new spreadsheet in excel for keeping my records. It is a pre-designed spreadsheet from a poster on 2+2 so thanks to "slim" for that. I am going to post the stats for the SnGs I have played in the last week and then starting tomorrow I will build on those stats daily and hopefully give my readers a better idea of how variance can ruin your life. :)
Recently thing shave been going good, I've been playing about 5-6 tables at a time and mostly the $55's with a few $109's thrown in. I would really like to get the bankroll for playing $109's exclusively. But anyways here are my stats so far, I hope to complete a total of 600 SnG's by month's end.

Well now that school is about to start back up for me, I am going to have to take on a more routine oriented life style. This will probably help my poker though as I am going to really try and make some money over the coming months. Also I have a few goals that I would like to accomplish in the next 12 months:

1) Have a $10,000 profit month (Including MTT's)

2) Make at least 6 final tables in big MTT's

3) Cash in a WSOP event

4) Play at least 10,000 SnG (5,000 215's)

5) Learn more about the game than I did in 2005

So starting tomorrow Jan 15, I will be on a quest to play 500 $55's by February. I will update at least 5 days a week but hopefully everyday. BTW congrats to 2+2er Steve Paul-Ambrose for taking down the Caribbean WPT event for $1.4 Million. Nice score!

I'm back! Over the past few weeks I ahve been keeping very busy with the holidays and all. I got in a decent amount of poker but basicaly just broke even over a few hundred 33's and 55's. However, last night I started the new year off with a nice little bankroll bost tot he tune of $4,800. I was able to finish 2nd out of 648 people in a $55 multitable tournament. I will now proceed to play blow a bunch of that money by playing some of the bigger tounreys on party. I want to make the next 3 months very profitable so i will be playing tons of $55 SnG's along with that I think I will devote my nightime play to NL cash games. I have about 60,000 hands experience at the PArty NL 25 and NL 50 tables but I think I want to break into the NL 100 game as it appears to be pretty profitable. I'll try to do 2 updates per week for this New Year let's hope it is Profitable.
